20 Adorable Snapshots That Show Pets and Their Humans Could Be Long-Lost Lookalikes

Maybe it's just us, but over time, we have started noticing just how similar our pets are to us. We don't know which one of us made the adjustment… if it was us who started acting more like them or they who started acting more like us. But it has happened, we swear. We have caught our dogs watching movies with us, sitting in front of the TV like they're just one of the humans. We have seen our birds dancing to songs the same way that we do, as if they're imitating our moves. We have even caught our cats having existential crises, and if that's not human-like of them, we don't know what is.

So, we have noticed ourselves and our pets acting similarly sometimes. What we have not really noticed before is just how similar we are to them physically. But it's true. Go on, look at your pet and then tell us that you don't see the similarity. We'll wait. You can't. Because it's there. Somehow, for some reason, pets and their owners look alike.

We wonder what happens first… Is it that we gravitate toward certain animals and end up adopting ones who look more alike to us than not? Or does it happen over time, like married couples who over the years start looking a little more alike?

There is no denying the similarity between these people and their pets. And when we look at our own and the pets of the people that we know in real life, we see the same thing. Similar. Itty bitty lookalikes. We don't know why this happens, but we love it.
